Let me introduce myself a little. I'm Maddy and I am a videographer/photographer living near St. Louis Mo.
On a free night I'm probably at home watching a movie with a huge blanket. It just might be that I'm out on a walk with my dogs, or restoring a piece of furniture I thrifted. I'm the friend who likes to introduce you to a movie you've never seen or a song you've never heard. I have a playlist for everything and I speak in movie quotes.
MY WHY
I want to capture the memories that you can look back on and smile, those fleeting moments that can get lost otherwise.​

STYLE + AESTHETIC
My style is a blend of documentary + cinematic.

What does that mean? I'm glad you asked.
​
DOCUMENTARY means capturing things "as is" with minimal posing or direction. It means I quietly capture the unplanned, candid moments as they happen; the flowers girls playing on the grass, your mom quietly wiping away tears while you get ready, and your friends from college getting wild at the reception.
This also means capturing atmosphere (places and b-roll) and natural sound. I always have a mic mounted to my camera.

CINEMATIC means a little direction and artistic flair. It means that sometimes I'll give you a prompt or instruction in order to get a certain artistic shot. This is mostly reserved for the "portraits" section of your wedding day and is entirely based on what kind of couple you are and the best way to tell your story.
It also pertains to the editing of your film. I never edit the same way twice and mostly do non-linear editing with a blend of natural sound, captured audio, and selected music.

Yes, that is correct. It is one or the other. I do not offer package deals and there are a couple reasons why that is.
​
The first reason is so that I am completely FOCUSED on how to capture your day.
I love photo and video but they are completely different skillsets and require different ways of thinking and gear.
​
The second reason is COMMUNITY. I could hire associates but that isn't how I want to work. When you hire me, you get me.
I love putting trust into the wedding community to do their jobs. So when you hire me for either photo or video, I am always happy to recommend someone else for the other.​

MY EXPERTISE
​My EXPERTISE is in filmmaking.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Film Studies from Webster University. But I started playing with a camera years ago and that began with PHOTOS.
I firmly believe that helped my filmmaking because both require skills in composition and framing.
Both have a fond place in my heart.
I also have EXPERIENCE. I have been doing this for 7+ years now and I've learned a thing or two.
I know what to do in harsh lighting scenarios (or NO lighting scenarios) I'm not freaking out over last minute changes or bad weather. I'm calm, collected, and ready for any scenario because you honestly never know what's going to happen and you just have to roll with the punches.

Wedding days can be feel hectic, but I'll be there to remind you to soak in the moment.

DO YOU HIRE SECOND SHOOTERS?​

That is absolutely an option if you book with me.​

DO YOU CAPTURE AUDIO?
​
Yes. In several different ways. I have an on camera microphone, lav mics for vows, first look ect. And I have audio I can plug into the DJ booth/speakers.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS/FILM?
​
I create one of a kind films that require my attention because I don't hire out for editing.
Expect a 4-5 month turnaround for wedding films and about 2-3 for wedding photos.
For all other types of work, it will be in your quote.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR PACKAGES?
​
I always want to tailor to your needs for your day but all my packages include a full ceremony edit, speeches, first dance, and any other special moments in addition to the main film.
